“T”, AND AN “Ê”

A é para agradável. O Rio Tietê em Barra Bonita é
muito limpo. As pessoas ainda
no Brasil. Descobriram tantas tão
perto umas das outras, que estas
cidades se juntaram e viraram o
Estado de São Paulo.
C is for chemicals. The foam that you see in Pírapora
de Bom Jesús, is made of
chemicals from the things we,
humans, use. For example, the
chemicals from the detergent, solid
waste from humans and the ones
from animals - that’s why you have
to clean your pets’ solid wastes.
Descendo o Clube de Fazenda
em Barra Bonita, em direção a
uma mata, você vai chegar em
uma mata com um rio de água
limpa e bonita, onde pessoas
ainda nadam e se divertem. O Rio
Tietê em Barra Bonita é uma
verdadeira maravilha.
E é para escravo. Os Bandeirantes obrigavam os
índios a serem Católicos ou
Cristãos. E para os ajudarem a
procurar pedras preciosas e
metais como ouro. Esse era o
objetivo principal da maioria dos
Bandeirantes.
F is for floating. There are many plastic things on
the Tietê River. Not only plastic
things, but all sorts of trash, such
as bottles, cans, bags and even
clothes! The number of trash on
the Tietê is enormous.
G é para gesto. Nós, humanos, temos que ajudar a
fazer o mundo um lugar mais
bonito e calmo de viver. O Brasil é
um desses lugares. O Rio Tietê,
um rio gigante no Estado de São
Paulo, vai ajudar muito. Então o
gesto que temos que fazer em
favor do rio é respeito. Assim não:
H is for have. It is not your duty to have the river
polluted, but it is to clean it. Nature
will be very pleased and thankful if
you do that.
Make it like in Barra Bonita:
I é para Igreja. A Igreja Matriz, em Santana de Parnaíba, é
uma Igreja com uma história fascinante. A
cidade começou assim, também.
Jogar lixo no rio fará mal para
todas as criaturas que estiverem
ao redor dele. Estas criaturas
podem pegar doenças e morrer e
isso vai afetar a cadeia alimentar
e, depois, os humanos. Não joge
lixo em qualquer lugar do mundo.
Keep the river clean. Don’t throw trash or any type of
chemical on the river. Keeping the
river clean will help our
environment and make it look like
as it was 100 years ago.
L is for love. You should love the river, as if it
was your son, or your brother or
even or something more than
important to your life. It was made
by nature and nature also made
you.
M é para Monções. Os Bandeirantes escolhiam o
período das Monções para
navegar o Tietê. Esta é uma época
do ano entre março e abril, quando
chove muito, o rio enche e torna a
navegação mais fácil. Alguns
Bandeirantes partiram de Porto
Feliz para Minas para pegar ouro.
N is for navigation. The navigation on the Tietê was
and still is very important. It was
important because it was a good
and easy way to travel throw São
Paulo like that. It is important now
because it helps us to look find the
goods in the river.
O is for oxygen We need oxygen so we can
breathe and live. Oxygen comes
from green leaves, something very
common around the Tietê. If we
pollute it, the river won’t have good
water to support the green plants
around the river, so there’ll be less
trees and we might die in lack of
oxygen.
P é para paisagem. A paisagem em Barra Bonita é
linda. Aliás, o Tietê é muito bem
cuidado alí. A paísagem de Salto
também é linda por causa da
cachoeira, mas nas margens têm
muitas garrafas e o rio é marrom
claro.
Q é para Quíron. A Quíron é o grupo que organizou
esta viagem. Os monitores eram
extremamente legais. Eles que
nos ensinaram a maioria dos fatos
sobre o Tietê. Sem eles, o passeio
não ia ser legal.
Reuse, reduse and recycle! If you use the three R’s, reuse,
reduce and recycle, you will help
the Tietê be cleaner by not
throwing it on it on or the floor.
O rio Tietê é o único rio no Brasil
que não corre em direção do mar.
O rio é diferente,em algumas
partes, bonito e principalmente
único. Você nunca irá ver um rio
assim no Brasil além do Tietê.
V é para volume. O volume de poluição em São
Paulo é muito grande assim como
a espuma tóxica em Pirapora, por
outro, lado o rio em Barra Bonita é
lindo.
W is for water. The water from the Tietê is not
clean, but in some parts, like in
Barra Bonita, it can be very clean,
with clear water. Help us clean the
river, and make the water clear!
X é para xixi. 90% da terra em torno do rio tem
cidades ou vilas. 80% da poluíção
é do lixo, acompanhado de fezes e
xixi. Como vimos em Pirapora de
Bom Jesus, há canos terminando
diretamente no rio!
Y is for years. About 100 years ago, the river was
beautiful. If you stop throwing trash
on the floor or on the river, the
chances that the Tietê will get
cleaner faster will be greater, so
help us clean the river!
Zip, zap!
