Day 1: Tue – HONOLULU. Depart Honolulu via Hawaiian Airlines.

Day 2: Wed – FUKUOKA. Arrive at Fukuoka International Airport. After entry formalities, transfer by coach to your hotel in Fukuoka. THE ROYAL PARK HOTEL FUKUOKA (4 Nights)

Day 3: Thu – FUKUOKA. After breakfast, travel to Nakano Farm to pick some fruits. Next transfer to Okawachiyama Village, a small, isolated village in the mountains just outside central Imari. Alongside Arita (in the neighboring valley), it was the first place in Japan to produce porcelain after kaolin – the mineral essential to making porcelain – had been found in the area and craftsmen with the necessary skills had been brought from Korea into the country. Today, Okawachiyama Village consists mostly of pottery workshops and their store fronts. Enjoy some time walking around and shopping for Imari Yaki a (Western term for a brightly-coloured style of Arita ware). After lunch visit Hizenhamashuku Area, a group of historic buildings built at the mouth of Hamagawa River, and is believed to have been established as a town during the Muromachi Period. Enjoy a Sakagura tour and sake tasting before transferring to the hotel. (B, L)

Day 4: Fri – FUKUOKA. This morning visit Dazaifu, established in the late 7th century and served as the administrator center of the entire island of Kyushu for over 500 years. Nowadays, Dazaifu is a small, quiet city on the outskirts of the large city of Fukuoka. Where there a number of temples and shrines, the most famous of which is the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. Then try your hand at Hakata Doll Painting, which makes a great souvenir and gift. Transfer back to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. December Tour Only‡ – enjoy the JR Hakata Station Illumination later this evening. (B)

Day 5: Sat – FUKUOKA. A free day at leisure. Explore Fukuoka on your own. Your local guide will be available to assist as needed. Perfect day to relax and/or visit with family and friends in Tokyo. Or perhaps do more shopping! (B)

Day 6: Sun – FUKUOKA – HONOLULU. Enjoy some leisure time in the morning. Then visit Forest City Kasuga Shopping Mall for last minute shopping and free time on your own. Transfer to the Fukuoka airport. Depart Fukuoka via Hawaiian Airlines and arrive Honolulu the same day. (B)
