I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. I am planning to defend my dissertation in spring 2014. My primary research focuses have been on understanding behavior and decision-making processes related to the issues of climate change, energy consumption, and environmental sustainability. My interests range from understanding how individuals acquire, perceive, asses, and react to environmental information to exploring how collective decisions (general public or institutions such as government or media) lead societies to diverse patterns of energy production and consumption, or technology preferences. During my doctoral study, with Professor Ines Azevedo, I have worked on topics such as analyzing consumer preferences for lighting technologies (with revealed and stated preference data) and estimating implicit discount rates; and investigating interactions between lighting and HVAC systems in residential buildings. Throughout my academic training, I have studied in various disciplines including engineering, economics, and public policy, and have been applying the experiences to thrive in the interdisciplinary fields of energy and the environment. Besides
