PERFORMANCE

Classical Music

From May 2014 on

Conducts Covilhã Ladies Choir, with a repertoire based on Pop and World

Music.

Between November 2014 and January 2015

Conducted the debut concert of the project “The Experiment”, an ensemble

set to present a choir repertoire with new conductors and to promote new

compositions.

Between September and November 2014

Member of the Coro Participativo of the Primeiro Concerto Participativo of

Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, under musical and artistic direction by Maestros Paul

McCleesh, Paul Lourenço and João Branco. The project ended on 30 November with

two concerts in which Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff, was executed. They took place

at the Grande Auditório of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.

December 2011

Conducted the Orchestra and Choir of the Ponte de Sor branch of Escola de

Artes do Norte Alentejano for two public performances of Christmas compositions

orchestrated by him.

June 2011

Took part in the Official Commemorations of the Dia de Portugal, de Camões

e das Comunidades Portuguesas (Day of Portugal, Camões and Portuguese

Communities) with the ESART choir, under the direction of José Carlos Oliveira.

Between April and June 2011

Participated in the Production, by ESART, of the Opera “Die lustige Witve”, by

Franz Lehar, under the Artistic Direction of João Paulo Santos.

Becomes the Artistic Director of Coro de Câmara da Covilhã, created by him

upon a teacher’s suggestion.

Becomes the Artistic Director of Coro da Academia de Música 1.º de Junho de

1893 do Lumiar, in Lisbon, a place previously occupied by Maestro Gonçalo Lourenço,

his teacher.

Was the assistant of Maestro Luís Filipe Almeida, at Orfeão da Covilhã.

Conducts the Choir of Frei Heitor Pinto Highschool, in Covilhã.

Founded the Musicalis trio with the violinist Margarida Gravito and the soprano

Carla Fernandes. During this period, the trio performed at weddings, ceremonies and

conferences.

Joins the Mixed Choir of Orfeão da Covilhã, where he sang until April 2004,

later rejoining the Choir in January 2009.

Live recording of the Choir Odyssea’s concert at Igreja Evangélica Alemã de Lisboa,

in which Mass for the Ascencion, by Emanuel Serra (Canada) and To Dassadills, by

Calvin Bowman, premiered.

2008

Recording and production of the CD “Trail of the Sacred” by the LAT Choir. On sale.

Production and recording of the Covilhã appearence of the Odyssea Choir. Recording

awaiting for final release. This concert had the world première of “Crux”, by Domenico

Ricci.

Organised, as per contract, the Programme of Musical Activity of Covifeira – Feira

Commercial, Industrial and Agricultural Activities Fair organised by ANIL - Associação

Nacional de Industriais de Lanifícios. In this event, he presented different local groups

in a programme that covered popular music, garage bands and choral groups.

Between 1996 and 1996, he was a worker at “Brintêxtil” (duvet manufacturer), in

Covilhã.

Between 1993 and 1995, he was a spinner at “Nova Penteação”, in Covilhã.

Between 1986 and 1995, he was a radio broadcaster at Rádio Clube da Covilhã, Rádio

Caria (Belmonte) and Rádio Urbana (Castelo Branco). Although he started as a

hobbyist, he later carried out this activity as a professional.

As a teenager, he took summer jobs as a counter and table waiter at cafés.
