HeroMariah Carey

Composição: Mariah Carey; Walter AfanasieffVerse 1:

There's a hero, if you look inside your heart. You don't have to be afraid of what you are.

There's an answer, if you reach into your soul,And the sorrow that you know will melt away.

(Chorus):And then a hero comes along, with the strength to carry on,

And you cast your fears aside, and you know you can survive. So when you feel like hope is gone,

Look inside you and be strong,And you'll finally see the truth, that a hero lives in you.

Verse 2:It's a long road, when you face the world alone.

No one reaches out a hand for you to hold. You can find love, if you search within yourself,

And the emptiness you felt will disappear.(Repeat Chorus)

Lord knows, dreams are hard to follow. But don't let anyone, tear them away- ay ay.

Hold on, there will be tomorrow. In time, you'll find the way.

(Chorus)That a hero lives in... youThat a hero lives in... you

LESSON 11: POSSESSIVE CASEGRAMMAR IN FOCUS

THE POSSESSIVE CASE

The possessive case is used to denote a possessor.

This pencil belongs to PeterIt is Peter’s pencilIt is his pencil

Peter’s is in the possessive form, because the ‘S indicates that the pencil belongs to him. Peter owns the pencil.

The genitive case is used in two ways:1) Saxon way = ‘S2) Norman Way = OF

Singular possessor + ‘S – Possessive case, singular ‘SPlural possessor + ‘ = Possessive case, Plural ‘S

EXCEPTION: These nouns are plural, but do not end in s:

The men’s money The women’s hats The children’s toys The mice’s tails The geese’s feathers.

NOTE:1) The Saxon way is generally used for animate beings:

Peter’s pencil is sharp2) The Norman way is generally used for inanimate things:

The door of the house is red3) The definite article THE is not used before proper nouns:

Mary’s pen
