Os Paradigmas da Ciência Política

Apresentação O objetivo principal do curso é apresentar uma introdução mais sistemática aos fundamentos históricos, teóricos, epistemológicos e metodológicos da Ciência Política. Para tanto, tem como fio condutor das leituras e discussões a premissa de que a evolução histórica da Ciência Política contemporânea caracteriza-‐se pela sucessão de três paradigmas: (1) o antigo institucionalismo, (2) o comportamentalismo e (3) o neo-‐institucionalismo. Sob a chancela de cada um desses paradigmas, desenvolveram-‐se variados tipos de abordagens, tais como o constitucionalismo comparado, o estrutural-‐funcionalismo, a análise de sistemas, os estudos sobre cultura política, os estudos sobre o comportamento eleitoral, as análises de política comparada, a teoria do desenvolvimento político, a teoria da escolha racional, a teoria da escolha social, etc. Com tal perspectiva, a proposta dos encontros do curso é discutir os elementos básicos de cada um desses paradigmas e suas respectivas abordagens.
Avaliação A avaliação será realizada por meio de um trabalho escrito, na forma de artigo, contendo até 15 páginas, a ser entregue depois do encerramento da disciplina, em data a ser fixada. Há dois temas previstos para o trabalho, a ser escolhido. O primeiro, preferível, consiste na identificação de qual paradigma e qual de suas vertentes podem ser mais indicados para o enquadramento teórico e epistemológico do respectivo problema de pesquisa. O segundo, para quem ainda não tem muita clareza acerca do seu problema de pesquisa, consiste na análise dos paradigmas e vertentes discutidos no curso.
Material para Leitura Os textos indicados para leitura estão disponíveis em PDF numa caixa virtual. O link para acesso aos textos será enviado a todos por email. Basta entrar no link e baixar os textos. Há dois tipos de leitura: básica e complementar. Para um bom acompanhamento das discussões é importante que sejam lidos os textos básicos. Os textos complementares ajudarão no aprofundamento dos temas abordados, por isso sua leitura é fortemente recomendada.
