THE PRESENT PERFECT TENSE O TEMPO PRESENTE PERFEITO Expressa uma ação no passado sem tempo determinado, ou uma ação no passado que continua no presente. FORMAÇÃO DO “PRESENT PERFECT” VERBO AUXILIAR HAVE + VERBO NO PARTICÍPIO. Conjugação - to go Affirmative form I have gone (I’ve gone) You have gone (You’ve gone) He has gone (He’s gone) She has gone (She’s gone)

It has gone (It’s gone) We have gone (We’ve gone) You have gone (You’ve gone) They have gone (They’ve gone)

Negative form I haven’t gone You haven’t gone He hasn’t gone She hasn’t gone It hasn’t gone We haven’t gone You haven’t gone They haven’t gone

Interrogative form Have I gone? Have You gone? Has He gone? Has She gone? Has It gone? Have We gone? Have You gone? Have They gone?

QUANDO USAR O PRESENT PERFECT? I- Ações que acabaram de ocorrer. Ex: I have cut myself! (Eu me cortei!) II- Se não for mencionado, na frase, quando a ação ocorreu. Ex: We have arrived. (Nós chegamos.) III- Frases no passado contendo as seguintes palavras JUST (já, acabou) - usado para se referir a uma ação que aconteceu num passado bem recente. Ex.: Ana’s just arrived from work . (Ana acabou de chegar do trabalho) ALREADY ( já) - usado em frases afirmativas e interrogativas para se referir a uma ação que ocorreu antes do esperado. Ex: Have you already washed the car? (Você já lavou o carro?) YET (já, ainda) – usado em frases interrogativas e negativas, quando o falante está na espectativa de que algo aconteça. Ex: I haven’t gone there yet. (Eu não fui lá ainda.)

EVER (já) – usado em frases interrogativas. (Ex: Have you ever gone to U.S.A? (Você já foi a U.S.A?) NOTE: “EVER” aqui tem o sentido de “alguma vez” NEVER (nunca) - usado em frases negativas. Ex: I’ve never gone to New York. (Eu nunca fui a New York.) IV- Frases contendo palavras que indicam período de tempo passado: RECENTLY - Ex: I haven’t seen Peter recently. (Eu não tenho visto Peter recentemente.) FOR A LONG TIME - Ex: I haven’t seen him for a long time. (Eu não o vejo há muito tempo.) SINCE (desde) / FOR (por) - para expressar ações que começaram no passado e continuam até o presente) - Ex: I haven’t gone there since 1987.(Eu não vou lá desde 1987.) Ex.: I have lived for 20 years. (Eu moro aqui há 20 anos.)
