Volkswagen has a $ 250 million factory in Resende, RJ Brazil. One of the most modern factories, trucks and buses in the world, ISO TS and ISO 14000 certified. The Modular Consortium, which brings into the factory the main suppliers for the assembly of vehicles. Almost ten years after its inauguration, the new unit of production hits record, surpassing the mark of 100 thousand trucks and buses produced. The current technical capacity is up to 57.6 thousand vehicles per year.

Its assembly line was built in only 153 days, located 150 km from Rio de Janeiro and 250 km from Sao Paulo. The unit is connected to the world via fiber optics, thanks to a virtual PABX of 800 extensions and fast transmission of data. Fifty-two computer systems are used in Resende, including on the floor of the factory.
