O passado sempre foi um bomconselheiro desta relaçãohistórica que se iniciou com osnavegadores no século XV, quese estendeu pelos séculos comfluxos migratórios portuguesesmais ou menos intensos, e quechegou ao século XXI comalguns sinais deempobrecimento devido aonatural “diluir” das terceiras equartas gerações deportugueses na identidade sul-africana.O tema da diplomaciaeconómica ganhou particulardimensão de há três anos a
esta parte e esse olhar, de umaperspectiva estratégica emacro-económica, passou a sermais acutilante e focado nocrescimento da relaçãoeconómica e comercial com amaior e mais poderosaeconomia Africana, semesquecer a região.
