A 1ª Feira Internacional do Ambiente e Energias Renováveis (FIAER-2016) surge como um evento inovador e pioneiro em Cabo Verde e visa impulsionar o Sector das Energias Renováveis, considerado como um dos eixos estra-tégicos para a construção de “uma economia dinâmica, com-petitiva, inovadora e sustentável, com prosperidade partilha-da por todos”, reduzindo substancialmente a dependência do exterior, através da produção de energias limpas e amigas do ambiente. A FIAER-2016 pretende ser uma Feira de grande dimensão, envolvendo cerca de 60 expositores nacionais e estrangeiros, apostando numa forte participação de expo-sitores internacionais, mormente a nível da Sub-região da Comunidade Económica dos Estados da África Ocidental (CEDEAO), mas igualmente com um forte engajamento de expositores oriundos dos Continentes americano, europeu e asiático. Cabo Verde conta com o Centro Regional da CE-DEAO para as Energias Renováveis e Eficiência Energética (ECREEE) que coordena, executa, co-financia e apoia progra-mas, projetos e atividades no âmbito das energias renováveis.

The 1st International Fair of Environment and Rene-wable Energy (FIAER 2016) emerges as an innovative and pioneering event in Cabo Verde and aims to drive forward the sector of Renewable Energies. This is a sector conside-red to be as one of the strategic pillars to substantially redu-ce external dependence through the production of clean and environmentally friendly energy for the construction of “a dynamic, competitive, innovative and sustainable economy, and of prosperity shared with all”. The FIAER 2016 aims to be a major trade fair, in-volving arround 60 national and foreign exhibitors, expec-ting a large-scale international participation, especially wi-thin the sub-region of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) but also with a strong commit-ment of exhibitors from the Americas, Europe and Asia. Cabo Verde has the ECOWAS Centre for Renewab-le Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) that coordina-tes, executes, co-funds and supports programs, projects and activities in the scope of renewable energy.

ORGANIZAÇÃO ORGANIZATION Under the motto “Technology for a green Africa” the event is promoted by the Ministries of Tourism, Invest-ment and Business Development and the Environment in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Sotavento CCISS and ECREEE – Ecowas Cen-ter for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency and will takes place from 11th to 13th February 2016, in the city of Praia. The FIAER 2016 organization will have a wide ran-ge of side activities that will enhance the event.

Sob o Lema “Technology for a green Africa” o evento é uma iniciativa promovida pelos Ministérios do Tu-rismo, Investimento e Desenvolvimento Empresarial e do Ambiente em colaboração com a Câmara de Comércio, In-dústria e Serviços de Sotavento CCISS e a ECREEE - Cen-tro de Energias Renováveis e Eficiência Energética e decor-re de 11 a 13 de Fevereiro de 2016, na Cidade da Praia. A Organização da FIAER 2016 terá um leque variado de actividades paralelas que, decerto, irão enriquecer o certa-me.
