SIZE OF THE VINEYARDSContino : 62 hectares
LOCATION OF THE VINEYARDSThe Cune, Imperial and Real de Asua wines are all made in the historic bodega complex in
Haro. All grapes for the Cune wines come from the 'Rioja Alta' zone, where higher altitudes and
Atlantic influences moderate the climate, ideal for producing wines of elegance and finesse.
Imperial and real de Asua are made from a selection of the best grapes from vineyards
surrounding the village of Villalba, in the heart of the 'Rioja Alta' zone.
Vina Real has its own dedicated ultra-state-of-the-art winery near to Laguardia. Grapes come
principally from the 'Rioja Alavesa' zone, on sunny south-facing slopes running down from the
Sierra de Cantabria mountain range to the Ebro river. These well-located vineyards give ripe
wines with good structure.
Contino is a genuine single-estate - the first of its kind in Rioja - with 62 hectares of contiguous
vineyards enclosed within a bend of the Ebro river, close to Laguardia in the Rioja Alavesa. The
imposing Cerro de la Mesa hill just behind protects the vineyards and creates a uniquely
favourable mesoclimate
