    Untitled until now

Story continued from the last edition of the magazine:

A month or 2 had passed within the time that seemed like only a week. Thevillage had been growing like there was no tomorrow. From the smallsettlement it was at the start, it had grown to become a huge city. AttractingGauls from all over the realm gathered to settle there. But now there was asecond problem. The city had grown too big for it to be able to support itself and this is why Eldain was summoned to the palace. The old mansion of thechief was now transformed into a small palace; to emphasise the importance

of the one who lived within. He was asked to discuss his latest suggestion: tosend a small group of people, about 3 or so, to search for a suitable place; anew location to found a new village, the beginning of the chief`s empire.

The settlers were chosen, but not after tedious hours of nitpicking over detailswith the counsel of elders. And so began the preparations for the travels; carts

were being built, supplies were gathered and even the scouts sent out to findnew suitable locations. There was a nice little valley about half a day away - perhaps that could be the place to start a new city.

A few days more and they would be ready, ready to start up a new village. Butfirst; he would need to deal with those pesky Teutons. His army was beingassembled, and ready to head out.

The story will be continued in the next edition of the magazine.

This story is written by shadowspirrit.

Betrayal is the name of the game

    By Maanskyn

Being an alliance founder, you naturally trust your members. You believe thatyour allies will go to war with you, suffer with you and conquer together till theday you suffer from a severe case of internetlessness Ahh, what a wonderfulthought. A dream that ended rapidly when one of my strongest members leftthe alliance. He not only left, but turned against us, betrayed our trust andbecame our biggest enemy. He started attacking all the members witheconomical strategies, knowing fully of each game play. Like a spear to theheart, I couldnt bear the pain. My soldiers dead, my hero weakened. Allseemed lost.

Just like Caesar was betrayed by Brutus in Shakespeares tale, the ally pulleda veil over my eyes. My heart turned to stone. I whispered to myself: He will

not take. He will not raid. He will not conquer. So I decided to build a hugecranny. One that will fit a whole army of fierce warriors and resources to last for years. Take that betrayer! You will not take anymore

In Travian, betrayal is everywhere. Maybe not as harsh as the scenario above, but at some stage you will be shocked. Your mouth will turn dry. Even thebiggest warrior will weep at some stage. You will be challenged with questionsand riddles. Why? How? What now? The last question is the most important. What will you do now? After all that has happened?

    Youll fight.

    Youll build up again.

    Youll enjoy the revenge.

And youll raid that little traitor for all that he is worth.

Romania rests in the Southeasternpart of Europe, girdling the BlackSea between Ukraine and Bulgaria. It came into being when the twoprincipalities of Moldavia andWallachia broke the shackles of Turkish Ottoman sovereignty andmerged, in 1859, to form a newland - Romania. Surrounded byHungary and Serbia to the west,Ukraine and Moldova to thenortheast and Bulgaria to thesouth, Romania is home to thestriking Carpathian mountainranges that pass through its heart. With its sun - kissed beaches, emerald forests, surreal history andmedieval monuments, Romaniaremains a very popular tourist

    Cuisine

The diversity of the Romanian cuisine is quite high and acareful observer will notice traces of many internationalcuisines in the Romanian traditional cuisine. Starting withthe dishes brought by the Roman invaders and continuingwith influences from other nations such as the Turks,Russians, Germans and Hungarians, the Romanian cuisinetried to pick up the best dishes and adapt them to local

traditions. While there are no specific or unique preparationmethods for Romanian cooking, we should point out thatattention to detail is important in Romanian cuisine. Usingthe right amount of spices for example is essential either for spicing up the taste or for coloring the dish. Eachtraditional dish has a special cooking method, which is moreor less general in all of Romanias regions. Meat is one of the main elements of most Romanian meals, but other popular ingredients include potatoes, beans and other different vegetables.

A widely recognized festival all around the globe falls on the 1 st of May if you haventguessed it yet, the article of this month is dedicated to May Day, also known asInternational Workers Day. Namely, May Day is a celebration of the international workersmovement, but also left - wing movements in general. Commonly, many countries thatcelebrate this festival witness organized street parades and marches by workers and their working unions through the streets. May 1 st is a national holiday for more than 80 countriesworldwide and it is also celebrated unofficially in many other countries.

    History

International Workers Day actually represents the commemoration of the infamousHaymarket Massacre from 1886 in Chicago, USA. What happened that day? Well, during ageneral workers strike (people were fighting for reduced labor time; namely, for an 8 hour work day), an unknown perpetrator threw a dynamite bomb at police officers which wereoverseeing the strike, after the policemen decided to disperse the protestors; the bombcaused the police to open fire on the laborers, which resulted in the death of a number of protestors and several policemen (mostly due to friendly fire). Later on, in 1890, the firstcongress of the Second International (an organization of socialist and labor parties) whichwas conducted in Paris for the centennial of the Great French Revolution, called for international demonstrations on the 1890 anniversary of the Haymarket Massacre. A year later, the International recognized May Day as an annual event.

This series of events would eventually lead to the 1894 May DayRiots. In many countries, the working classes sought to make MayDay an official holiday, and their efforts largely succeeded. MayDay has long been a focal point for demonstrations by varioussocialist, communist and anarchist groups. In some circles, bonfires are lit in commemoration of the Haymarket martyrs, usually at dawn. May Day has been an important official holiday in

Communist countries such as the People's Republic of China,Cuba and the former Soviet Union. May Day celebrations typicallyfeature elaborate popular and military parades in these countries.

In the United States and Canada, however, the official holiday for workers is Labor Day in September. This day was promoted by theCentral Labor Union and the Knights of Labor, who organized thefirst parade in New York City. After the Haymarket Square riot inMay, 1886, US President Grover Cleveland feared thatcommemorating Labor Day on May 1 could become an opportunity

to commemorate the riots. Thus he moved in 1887 to support theLabor Day that the Knights supported.

Right - wing governments have traditionally sought to repress themessage behind International Workers' Day, with fascistgovernments in Portugal, Italy, Germany and Spain abolishing theworkers' holiday, and the Conservative party in the UK currentlyattempting to abolish the UK's annual May Day Bank Holiday.

    How is May Day celebrated?

The way May Day is observed varies from country to country. Asmentioned before, some countries celebrate May Day as a nationalholiday while other countries only observe it unofficially. Here aresome examples:

Japan: May Day is not officially designated by the Japanesegovernment as a national holiday. But because it lies betweenother national holidays, it is a day off work for the vast majority of Japanese workers. Many employers give it as a day off by, andotherwise workers take it as "paid leave". Workers generally takeMay 1 off work not so much to join street rallies or labor uniongatherings, but rather to take a few days of vacation in an

uninterrupted string. In the Japanese corporate culture, takingweekdays off for personal pleasure is widely frowned upon.

Turkey: May 1 st is an official holiday celebrated in Turkey. It was aholiday until 1981 when it was cancelled after the 1980 coup - d'tat. However, in 2010, the Turkish government restored the holiday.Taksim Square is the center of the celebrations due to Bloody May1st which happened in Taksim in 1977.

Serbia: In Serbia, the 1st of May is a day off work and a day out of school. People celebrate all over the country, usually havingbarbecues outside.

USA: In the United States, efforts to officially switch Labor Day tothe international date of May 1 have failed. In 1921, following theRussian Revolution of 1917, May 1 was promoted as"Americanization Day" by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and other groups as a counter to communists. It became an annual event, sometimes featuring large rallies. In 1949, Americanization Daywas renamed to Loyalty Day. In 1958, Congress declared Loyalty

Day a national holiday; that same year, U.S. President Dwight D.Eisenhower proclaimed May 1 Law Day as well.

Some unions and union locals in the United States especially inurban areas with strong support for organized labor haveattempted to maintain a connection with more radical labor traditions through their own unofficial observances on May 1.Some of the largest examples of this occurred during the GreatDepression of the 1930s, when thousands of workers marched inMay Day parades in New York's Union Square. Smaller far left

groups have also tried to keep the May Day tradition alive withmore radical demonstrations in such cities as New York andSeattle, without major union backing.

In 2006, May 1 was chosen by mostly Latino immigrant groups inthe United States as the day for the Great American Boycott, ageneral strike of illegal immigrant workers and supporters toprotest H.R. 4437, immigration reform legislation which they feltwas draconian. From April 10 to May 1 of that year, millions of immigrant families in the U.S. called for immigrant rights, workersrights and amnesty for undocumented workers. They were joinedby socialist and other leftist organizations on May 1.On May 1,2007, a mostly peaceful demonstration in Los Angeles in supportof illegal immigrant workers ended with a widely televised assaultby police officers. In March 2008, the International Longshore andWarehouse Union announced that dockworkers will move no cargoat any West Coast ports on May 1, 2008, as a protest against thecontinuation of the Iraq War and the diversion of resources fromdomestic needs. For May Day 2010, marches were being plannedin many cities uniting immigrant and native workers including NewYork San Francisco, Boston, Albany, Chicago and Los Angelesmost of whom protested against the Arizona Senate Bill 1070.

Brazil: In Brazil, Workers' Day is an official holiday, and unionscommemorate it with day - long public events. It is also whensalaries for most professional categories and the minimum wageare traditionally readjusted.

Walpurgis Night (Walpurgisnacht) is a traditional springfestival on 30 April or 1 May in large parts of Central andNorthern Europe. Its celebration is associated with dancingand with bonfires.

The current festival is, in most countries that celebrate it,named after Saint Walburga (ca. 710 - 777/9). As Walburgawas canonized on 1 May (ca. 870), she became associatedwith May Day, especially in the Finnish and Swedishcalendars. The eve of May day, traditionally celebrated withdancing, came to be known as Walpurgisnacht ("Walpurga'snight").

The German term is recorded in the 17th century as S.Walpurgis Nacht or S. Walpurgis Abend . In earlier references, 1 May is more typically referred to as Jacobi Philippi , after James the Less and Philip, the apostles whosefeast day falls on 1 May. The 17th century German traditionof a meeting of sorcerers and witches on May Day isinfluenced by the descriptions of Witches' Sabbaths in 15th

    and 16th century literature.

    Celebrations

Czech Republic: 30 April is plen arodjnic ("burning of the witches") or arodjnice in the Czech Republic, the daythat winter is ceremonially brought to an end by the burningof rag and straw witches or just broomsticks on bonfires

around the country. The festival offers Czechs the chance toeat, drink and be merry around a roaring fire.

Estonia: In Estonia, Volbri is celebrated throughout thenight of 30 April and into the early hours of 1 May, where 1May is a public holiday called "Spring Day" ( Kevadpha ).Volbri is an important and widespread celebration of the

arrival of spring in the country. Influenced by German culture, the night originally stood for the gathering and meeting of witches. Modern people still dress up as witches to wander the streets in a carnival - like mood.

The Volbri celebrations are especially vigorous in Tartu, theuniversity town in southern Estonia. For Estonian students instudent corporations (fraternities and sororities), the nightstarts with a traditional march through the streets of Tartu, followed by visiting each others' corporation housesthroughout the night.

Finland: In Finland, Walpurgis day ( Vappu ) is, along withNew Year's Eve and Midsummer ( Juhannus ), the biggestcarnival - style festival held in the streets of Finland's townsand cities. The celebration, which begins on the evening of 30April and continues to 1 May, typically centres on copiousconsumption of sparkling wine and other alcoholic beverages.Student traditions, particularly those of the engineering

students, are one of the main characteristics of Vappu . Sincethe end of the 19th century, this traditional upper - class feasthas been appropriated by university students. Many graduatesfrom lukio , and thus traditionally assumed as universitystudents or alumni, wear a cap. Most people think the caps of the engineering students are distinguished by pom - pomshanging from them; however, nurses and some other vocational school graduates also have caps with pom - poms. One tradition is to drink sima, a home - made low - alcohol mead, along with freshly cooked funnel cakes.

The Finnish tradition is also a shadowing of the Socialist MayDay parade. Expanding from the parties of the left, the whole of the Finnish political scene has adopted Vappu as the day to goout on stumps and agitate. This does not only include politicalactivists: other institutions, such as the church, have followedsuit, marching and making speeches.

Left - wing activists who were active in the 1970s still party onMay Day. They arrange carnivals, and radio stations play leftist

    songs from the 1970s.

Germany: In Germany, Walpurgisnacht , the night from 30April to 1 May, is the night when witches are reputed to hold alarge celebration on the Brocken and await the arrival of spring.

In some parts of northern coastalregions of Germany, the custom of lighting huge fires is still kept alive tocelebrate the coming of May, whilemost parts of Germany have aderived Christianized custom aroundEaster called "Easter fires".

In rural parts of southern Germany,

it is part of popular youth culture toplay pranks such as tampering withneighbours' gardens, hidingpossessions, or spraying graffiti onprivate property.

In Berlin, traditional leftist May Dayriots usually start at Walpurgis Nightin the Mauerpark in Prenzlauer Berg. There is a similar tradition in theSchanzenviertel district of Hamburg,

though in both cases, the situationhas significantly calmed down in thepast few years.

Even though our purpose is to bring you a simple butentertaining browser game, the Travian.com team feelsthat we should also take some time to bring you a piece

of history along with the game as well.

This is why we have decided to start a series of articlesin which we will try to tell you as much as we can aboutthe three tribes involved in the game.

    ROME

Arguably the most important civilization that ever setfoot on this planet, the Romans were not just a militarypower back in their glory days. They were also thecivilization responsible for many political and culturalexpressions which have managed to live even up to thecurrent days, with their art, philosophy, language, literature, legal codes, government, architecture, engineering, medicine and many other creations being

a part of our daily lives.

But in order to become the great civilization we allknow about and, therefore, achieve that privilegedspot in history, Rome first had to be created andfounded.

According to Roman mythology, the founders of Rome were the twin - brothers Romulus and Remus, who were the supposed sons of the god Mars andthe priestess Rhea Silvia.

The story begins with the deposition of Numitor (their grandfather and king of the ancient Italian city of AlbaLonga), by his brother Amulius. Numitor's daughter,Rhea Silvia, was made a Vestal Virgin by Amulius - which meant that she was made a priestess of thegoddess Vesta and therefore forbidden to marry. However, the god Mars came to her in her temple

and with him she conceived her two sons, Romulus andRemus.

As soon as they were born, her husband abandoned themin a remote location. This practice was a form of quasi -infanticide tolerated in many ancient cultures, including

the Roman and Greek, when children were unwanted. They were unwanted because Amulius feared that theboys would grow up to overthrow him, so he had themplaced in a trough and thrown into the Tiber River. At thattime, the river was flooded and when the waters fell, thetrough still containing the two boys came ashore.

They were found by a she - wolf, who instead of killingthem, looked after them and fed them with her milk. Theshe - wolf was helped by a woodpecker that brought them

food as well. Interesting enough, both these animals weresacred to Mars.

Romulus and Remus were then discovered byFaustulus, a shepherd, who brought the children to hishome. Faustulus and his wife, Acca Larentia, raised theboys as their own. According to Livy, some said thatLoba, wife of Faustulus, had suckled them, not a femalewolf. Indeed, her name meant wolf which was Lupus inLatin.

Upon reaching adulthood, Romulus and Remus killedAmulius and reinstated Numitor, their grandfather, asKing of Alba Longa, and then they decided to found atown of their own.

Romulus and Remus chose the place where the she -wolf had nursed them. Romulus began to build walls onthe Palatine Hill, but Remus jeered at them because theywere so low. He leaped over them to prove this, andRomulus in anger killed him. Romulus continued thebuilding of the new city, naming it Roma (Rome) after hisown name. Its first citizens were outlaws and fugitives, towhom Romulus gave the settlement on the CapitolineHill.

There were, however not enough wives for all of thesemen, and so Romulus decided to steal women from theSabines, an Italian tribe. He proclaimed a festival andinvited many Sabines to it. While the attention of theSabine men was occupied elsewhere, Romulus' menrushed in and carried off their women. This was thefamous "Rape (carrying off) of the Sabine women",which later became a subject for painters. The Sabinemen were furious and, led by their king Titus Tatius, declared war on Romulus. When the fighting hadreached its peak, the Sabine women, who had grownfond of their Roman husbands, rushed between theranks and begged both sides to make peace. So thebattle was stopped and Romulus and Titus Tatius ruledtogether over the two peoples until Titus Tatius waskilled in battle. For the rest of his life Romulus ruledalone, proving himself a great leader in peace and war.He did not die but disappeared one day in a violent

storm. The Romans, believing he had been taken up toheaven, worshiped him under the name of Quirinus. Hewas succeeded by Numa Pompilius.

Treachery can be found not only in some lower members of alliances but in its core leadership, as the oncenoble legion alliance found out all too well. Their story is a sad tale. team holds three WWs between Expreems two and Twiggis one. Withouttheir own WW to support, R.GT and their supporters have decided to backthe other remaining WW in the SW, held by DragonLove. OBL currentlyholds one, and WW number three remains unconquered and held by theNatars.

    Server News

Server report was done by Eylsium.

The Natar homeland (grey zone) located centrally on the great plans of server 9, home of the WW villages of the Natars - a peaceful realm, until the alliances of men saw this land, tainted as it is. They yearned for it, sought after it. Four alliances hold what looks like key zones in thisNatar area, with WARC and KOTW seeming to make it their homelands. The attacks on the incoming villages come swiftly and brutally, yetbehind their solid walls reside its citizens, undaunted by the hordes that the Natars send in wave after wave.

Some outlying alliances plunder the Natar zone, scrapping for ground, Lord N and R forming the battalions on the fringe and with Heroesforming its immense battle lines. So far, USSV is quietly staying put with Demons slowly waiting in the shadows.

This server is gearing up nicely, the balance of power ever shifting. The will of men to covet the WW is showing as each alliance is setting itstargets, its areas, its power and its people in place. How long

before the great alliances go in for the challenge and declare all out war, or are random skirmishes the tale so far!

The city of Osgiliath 12th April in the year 2011

The book of Lord Lavius - Diplomat and liaison of Lord Elysium

Darkness envelops the battlements of Osgiliath. Not a sound stirs the peaceful night. Yet not many would consider this night to be peaceful.Scouts report a large gathering of Natars, its engines of war rolling down towards the great city. A mere custodian until the main bulk of thearmy arrives, his breath is all that he can see, and even the moon has abandoned them on this night. Footsteps are heard from behind, a

solider waiting to tell his liege the report. Not wanting to speak out of turn, he waits patiently for the leader of his people to acknowledge hispresence. Without even turning, the lord beacons his general to relay his report. Sire, the troops are ready. We need only hold for one morewave. Elysium turned to his trusted general, looked his trusted comrade in the eyes and spoke so resolutely that even mountains would havemoved with the tension in his voice Let them come, we stand united, together in blood.

Get to know: Old Mac's T4 Fallacies/Facts: Uncovered

Travian News International / International 18

    by Old MacDonald

Everything written below is intended to aid the smooth transition from pre- T4 servers into the new T4. Differences in gameplay that are helpful toknow, as well as some basic T4 fact are displayed.

Oh Em Gee! My hero just died, how will I ever revive him without a herosmansion?!?!?!!1?!

FACT: In T4, you DO NOT need a Heros Mansion to revive your hero. Simplyclick on the picture of your hero in the top right, and hit the revive button. Thehero still has a cost to revive however, increasing depending on the level of your hero.

Gahh, I wish I could see which field is which! This is so confusing!

FACT: The T4 map in general is less supported by the majority of players thanthe older map mostly due its rather confusing and small look . However, onelittle tidbit that could be useful is that when youre viewing the map, simply

press the G button to bring forward gridlines. Enjoy! In addition, an alternativeto click - drag method of moving around the map, you can move around usingthe WASD characters, or the arrow pad.

Darnit! Why cant I take this oasis? The map is centered on my village, I havemy Heros Mansion to level 10, I DONT UNDERSTAND!!11!1

FACT: Been there, done that. For some reason, there is yet another major change to the map, and that is making it 9x7, as opposed to the original 7x7.This means that the oases in the rows on the left and right side of the mapsstandard view will not be available for you to capture with your hero.

What's this? Why can't I use my hero?! I JUST sent him over from my spawnvillage to my new village!

FACT: Irregardless of the fact you don't need a Hero's Mansion to use your hero in your spawn village, in order to use him from any other villages, a Hero's

Mansion must be built and completed prior to him being sent, otherwise he willact as a reinforcement.

Well this says that if I send an attack, I'm going to lose my BeginnersProtection...I'm not giving that up to attack a lousy oasis!

FACT: Attacking an oasis does not revoke your Beginners Protection, onlyattacking another player will do that.

NOTE: Natars do not count as "players", therefore attacks on Natars WILL NOTrevoke your BP

Get to know: Old Mac's T4 Fallacies/Facts: Uncovered

Travian News International / International 19

I'm almost out of Beginners Protection...oh no! My hero is going to be thelone defender of my village! What if I get attacked...he'll DIE!

FACT: You are given the option to have your hero not defend the village hecurrently resides in(some great hero he is). In fact, this is the default setting. If you wish to change this, simply click the box labeled "If checked, your hero willnot defend the village he currently belongs to" in order to toggle this option.

This is odd, how come Im still getting resources from this oasis?

FACT: In T4, there are more resources available for the taking. In 25% oasesyou could potentially grab 4,000 resources, and in a 50% oasis, you could take8,000. In addition, there are now 50% oases for all the resource types, not justwheat. Get clearing!

Man, what am I going to do with all these darned cages? I cant afford to feed all these pesky critters, Im already negative 250 crop!

FACT: Youre in luck. Animals do not consume any crop. They are fed from themagic in the air. Weird, I know, but who am I to complain, Ive never been able

to have pets due to lack of attention span and the high risk that Ill forget to feedthem. Thank you, Travian Games.

Lets see6 cages, 22 animalsNo way! Im not doing that! After I catch my six animals those other ones are going to kill my fragile little hero!

FACT: When capturing animals with cages, after all the cages equipped to your hero are used up, he turns around and comes home; no battle. Animals crueltyis bad, remember that kids.

I dont want these rats anymore, those elephants are sooooooo much better.Let me just release these stupid rodents, so I can catch me some elephants!

FACT: Once you use a cage, its used. Kaput. Done for. Releasing animalswont get you your cages back, you just need to either buy some, or stumbleupon some more during an adventure.

Im not building my wall up yet, theres no point until I have troops to put behind it!

FACT: The wall in T4 now gives, in addition to the traditional defense % bonus,a set defensive boost to a village. In effect, a leveled up wall can take on asmall raiding party on its own, even if only enough to make raiding your villagemore difficult and less profitable.

    20/23

Get to know: Old Mac's T4 Fallacies/Facts: Uncovered

Yes! This hero resource boost is saawweeetttt! Im going to set it onwheat so I dont need to build up my stupid cropland.

FACT: While the resource bonus from the new T4 hero is saawwweeeettt, andwhile using the aforementioned tactic is feasible, if you leave the bonus set tospread out between the four different types, youll end up netting 20% moreresources than if you selected one individually. Do the math, youll see it. Also,if you do end up using the wheat bonus to avoid building crop fields, youresetting yourself up to be crop locked upon the death of your hero.

With my next hero level I think Im going to put all 5 points into regeneration. Itsso annoying waiting for my hero to recover after a tough day at the office!

FACT: True, waiting for your hero to regenerate himself is a drag, but there isno regeneration attribute for heroes in T4, and guess what else? You only get4 points to distribute to your hero for each level gained. Each hero is set toregain 10% per day. This can only be increased with items such as the Helmetof Regeneration, Armor of Regeneration, or the Boots of Regeneration.Alternately, place a few points in Fighting Strength and hell take less damageduring battle or adventures, or use some ointments to quickly mend your herosinjuries.

What are these "adventures" I keep hearing about?

FACT: Adventures are new to T4 as part of the new hero system. by clickingthe small map icon (adventure icon) on the top right of the screen by thegraphic of your hero, you can view all those adventures which are available toyou. In adventures, you can find, among other things, resources, armor, cages,

bandages, troops, or nothing at all! View a complete list here: http://t4.answers.travian.com/?view=answers&action=answer&aid=229#go2answer

What the heck?! Why cant I join in on the auctions?!?!

FACT: Auctions become available to you only after completing your first tenadventures. Get going! For more on Auction in T4, see here: http://t4.answers.travian.com/?view=answers&action=answer&aid=245#go2answer

Finally! This second village is mine! Second one on the server, yes! I bet theseresources from the quest are going to help a ton!

FACT: Yes, these resources you are awarded for founding a second village, all6,700 of them, will help a great amount in starting up your new village. However, when you collect your reward, MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON YOURSPAWN VILLAGE. This village will have the warehouse and granary capacity tostore all of the resources given to you. If you collect the reward while on thenew village(having a warehouse and granary holding 750/800 resources), you'llend up wasting 6,500 resources. So be careful, and make sure you get full useout of this reward.

What's this? A NATAR village just appeared a few spaces away? That's odd...

FACT: In T4, the Natars are present all round long. In addition to their WWvillages and main village, they will create what are called independent villages. These are like any other village, in that they build buildings, have a steadyresource production, and will build some troops as well. These can be attacked, farmed, chiefed, etc. However, instead of spawning randomly, the Natars takeover inactive villages as opposed to deletion.

    21/23

Get to know: Old Mac's T4 Fallacies/Facts: Uncovered

What the heck! Where did my blacksmith go?! Where's my armory?!?

FACT: In T4, the blacksmith and armory have been combined in to one singlebuilding called the smithy. Here you can upgrade the attack/defense stats for alltroops. Basically, it's all the functionality of the two older buildings into this newbuilding.

Hey! Why are there so many attacks coming in on my village? I JUST settled here!

FACT: In T4, there is an area in the center of the map controlled by the Natars. No players will spawn here upon account creation. Players are allowed to settlehere, but upon settlement they will be attacked by Natars with the intent of village destruction. So be prepared for a fight! If your village survives this attack,no more will follow. This "Gray Area" is roughly 21 squares in radius at allpoints, and no villages settled in here will produce CP's, which is rather unfortunate, as a very high rate of good croppers(150% 15c) are located here.

Target NumberYou are presented with a target number along with six other smaller numbers. You are supposed to use these six numbers and apply the five basicmathematical operations (subtracting, adding, dividing, multiplying andbrackets) in order to get the target number or a number not too bigger or smaller than the target number. The first player who gets the number closest tothe target number wins.

NOTE: It does not matter if the number you get is higher or lower than thetarget number; the one closest to it (or the target number itself) is thewinning number.

    Example: Target number: 929 Available numbers: 5, 1, 2, 6, 20, 50 Operations: +, - , *, /, ( ) Combine the numbers to get the target number. You may use the six

    numbers only once. You do not have to use all of the offered numbers. (1 + 20) * (50 6) 5 = 21 * 44 + 5 = 924 + 5 = 929

The number 929 is actually the target number 929. Note that:1.The solution given in this example is not necessarily the best possiblesolution (though in this particular case, it is ^^).2.The six numbers can be such that it is impossible to get the targeted number by their combination.

So, remember: the objective is not necessarily to get the targeted number, butto get a number as close to it as possible. If no identical number is

submitted to us, then the number closest to the target number wins.

ATTENTION: When submitting your result, please dont just send us your finalsolution. For obvious reasons, we also need the formula you used to get thenumber. All of the formulas will be checked to see if they areaccurate and give the number you have submitted.

    This month's target numbers:

    TARGET NUMBER ONE:

Target number: 645 Available numbers: 1 , 3, 8, 8,15, 25 Operations: +, - , *, /, ( ) Combine the numbers to get the target number. You may use the sixnumbers only once. You do not have to use all of the offered numbers.

    TARGET NUMBER TWO:

Target number: 573 Available numbers: 3, 4, 5, 9, 15, 50 Operations: +, - , *, /, ( ) Combine the numbers to get the target number. You may use the sixnumbers only once. You do not have to use all of the offered numbers.

    TARGET NUMBER THREE:

    Target number: 637

Available numbers: 1, 5, 7, 7, 20, 25 Operations: +, - , *, /, ( ) Combine the numbers to get the target number. You may use the six numbersonly once. You do not have to use all of the offered numbers.
