The V11 SLW is one of the lightest, fastest-handling rifles available

in the DDM4 lineup. Cutting weight, not corners, the DDM4V11

SLW tips the scales at just over six pounds without any compromise in materials, construction, or

features. Built around a Cold Hammer Forged, 14.5”, Lightweight profile barrel, the V11 SLW has

an extended flash suppressor, which is pinned and welded to reach the NFA-requi red, 16” minimum

The DDM4 300S was designed for those demanding a high-performance, short-barrel rifle

chambered in the versatile 300 Blackout cartridge. Built around a 10.3” strength-to-weight

(S2W) barrel, the 300S uses standard 5.56 bolts and magazines to deliver .30 caliber projectileswith greater muzzle energy and better penetration than comparable 5.56mm platforms. The

increasingly popular 300 Blackout cartridge has proven itself to be extremely efficient in

short barrel rifles, yielding superior ballistics over the venerable 7.62x39mm cartridge.

With a wide variety of factor y ammunition made for everything from home defense, target

shooting, hunting, suppressed operation, and tactical applications, the 300S is capable

Intro to the DD5™

– “Project 7 62”



December 2012: Daniel Defense embarked on the DD5 Project, code-named “Project 762.” Drawing

on the US Army’s CSASS Request for Proposal, as well as internal company dialogue with industry

experts, the scope of work was laid out.

PHASE I – RAISING THE BARMarch 2013 – October 2013: The Daniel Defense design engineers began work on the performance-

driven design, mapping out the components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes for the DD5.

With no established industry standard in the .308 AR market, Marty Daniel guided the design team

with the directive of “discretionary compatibility.” This freed the Daniel Defense design team to

merge existing proven components, such as the Mil-Spec fire-control groups, buttstocks, and

pistol grips, with 44 new component designs, raising the bar in accuracy, ergonomics, weight, and

reliability beyond any existing .308 platform available.

PHASE II – CUTTING THE STONE

November 2013 – June 2014: The Daniel Defense design team began prototyping and sourcing of

components. “Design for Manufacturing” studies and regular assembly/fit-up tests resulted in the

continuous refinement of the components of the DD5.

PHASE III – GOING HOT!

July 2014 – October 2014: The Daniel Defense team began the initial testing of the DD5 prototypes.

Engineers began the design and development of the production tooling for the DD5V1.

PHASE IV – POLISHED GEMNovember 2014 – September 2015: The Daniel Defense team developed and tested the DD5V1’s

assembly procedures. They also initiated supplemental and long-term testing and evaluation, firing

several thousand rounds through each rifle. The DD5’s packaging and operator’s manual was

developed and the production first article was accepted.

PHASE V – PRODUCT RELEASE

October 2015 – Present: After almost three years of development, the

DD5V1 precision carbine entered full-scale production and was injected

into distribution channels and samples were sent out to media contacts.

The simple-to-install Omega Rail provides a rock-solid free-float

foreend with no modifications to the host rifle.



This is the core element within our hammer-

forge machine. These four hydraulic hammers

are responsible for shaping our barrel blanks

around a carbide mandrel, which creates thelands and grooves of the bore as well as the

chamber. Up to 8,000 barrels pass through this

machine each month. Cold Hammer Forging

(CHF) produces barrels with a surface finish 11.5

times smoother than traditional “cut” barrels.

FIRST HAMMER FORGE MACHINE (2008)Known for the longest-lasting and most accurate barrels obtainable, Daniel Defense’s first Cold

Hammer Forge machine (AGFM SHK-10) went into service February 23, 2008. Today, two CHF

Cold Hammer Forging (CHF) of barrels has

been known for decades to produce the

most accurate, longest-lasting rifle barrels

obtainable. The Cold Hammer Forging of

barrels is accomplished through intense

hydraulic pressure applied at opposing

angles by carbide steel hammers. During the

hammering process, a mandrel is inserted

into the bore while the carbide steel hammers

shape the barrel around the mandrel, creating

the chamber, the lands, and the grooves. In

addition to the aforementioned benefits,

the Cold Hammer Forging process changes

the micro-structure of the steel, making it

stronger, with a defect-free bore and the most

consistent chamber possible.

What started for Daniel Defense as a barrel

project has quickly proven to be an industry

changer. Unable to locate a supplier of Cold

Hammer Forged barrels for our own rifles,

we purchased a hammer forge capable of

supporting our needs. In early 2009, after

months of research and development and

labor-intensive testing, Daniel Defense

introduced one of the only commercially

available 5.56 Cold Hammer Forged barrels

in the United States. After fine-tuning the

manufacturing process and proving these

barrels to be some of the most accurate and

durable available, Daniel Defense introduced

an entire line of Cold Hammer Forged barrels.

All Dan iel Defense barrels are made f rom sta rt

to finish in our state-of-the-art facility located

in Black Creek, Georgia. With the capacity to

manufacture 8,000 barrels each and every

month, quality-control standards have never

been more crucial. Sophisticated equipment

such as the Hommel optic, Micro-VU, and

bore scope are used routinely for complex

measurements, ensuring each barrel is to spec.

Daniel Defense barrels are finished with

either a heavy phosphate exterior coating with

chrome lining, salt bath nitride treated, or in

the case of certain stainless steel barrels, a

bead-blasted, chemically passivated finish.

muzzle devices that have been designed, tested,

and manufactured to meet the expectations of

the most demanding consumers. The Daniel

Defense Flash Suppressor and Superior

Suppression Device, in a series of tests, showed

improved flash suppression over the traditional

A2 Birdcage. For the shooter driven by

accuracy, the new Daniel Defense Muzzle Climb

Mitigator Gen II redirects propellant gasses

through calibrated ports, countering both recoil

and muzzle climb. Less recoil and muzzle climb

results in quicker, more precise follow-up shots

and reduced fatigue. In keeping with the highest

standard of quality, Daniel Defense muzzle

devices are constructed from the highest grade

17-4 PH stainless steel and salt bath nitride

finished to reduce corrosion and wear.

Daniel Defense Muzzle Devices are available in

1/2-28 (5.56mm) or 5/8-24 (6.8 SPCII, 300

AAC, 7.62mm) TPI and come in standard or

A1.5® FIXED REAR SIGHT

The A1.5 Fixed Rear Sight’s lightweight,

streamlined design makes it the optimum

fixed iron sight for shooters using today’s most

popular optics. It’s engineered not to impede

use of the charging handle on M4-type rifles

and installs easily on any flat top upper receiver

using our patented Rock & Lock attachment

method.

FIXED FRONT SIGHT

The perfect rail-mounted fixed front sight.

The lightweight, streamlined design makes

it unobtrusive and snag-free. The one-piece

design makes it easy to install on any MIL-

STD-1913 rail, and it secures with a slotted

fastener threaded into a self-locking stainless

steel thread insert. Special attention was paid

to facilitate the use of compact weapon lights

forward of the sight, such as the X300 and

TLR-1. The concave radius on either side of the

sight is a great place to rest your thumb f or easy,

ambidextrous activation of the light. Machined

from 6061-T6 aluminum and Mil-Spec hard coat

anodized, our rail-mounted fixed front sight is

both lightweight and durable and is the perfect

complement to our A1.5 Fixed Rear Sight. The

extensions, minimizing forward or lateral play. This eliminates the need for a

tensioning device or friction lock. All of which results in a durable buttstock

that provides a comfortable, repeatable cheek weld and unprecedented control

of the firearm. The buttstock can be run with the included convex or concave

buttpads or without to accommodate the operator’s gear. Limited-rotation QD

MICRO MOUNT

The Daniel Defense Micro Mount is designed

to securely mount a variety of popular optics

to your flat-top upper receiver including

Aimpoint’s Micro R-1, H-1, T-1, Vortex’s Sparc

or any other optic utilizing the same type of

1 O’CLOCK OFFSET RAIL

The Daniel Defense 1 O’clock Offset Rail is

optimized for mounting miniature red-dot

optics in the 1 o’clock (right-hand ) or 11 o’clock

(left-hand) positions for quick, non-magnified

transitions when employing magnified primary

optics on AR-type rifles with MIL-STD 1913

rails. The geometry allows for zero cheekweld

shift during the transition, which facilitates

very fast transitions between magnified and

non-magnified optics. It can also be used for

a variety of lights and accessories. By flipping

the part upside-down, one can mount a light in

a good position for use with a vertical foregrip.

The 1 O’clock Offset Rail features our Rock &

Point provides an ambidextrous attachment

of the popular Heavy Duty Push Button QD

Sling Swivel. This steel-constructed, swivel

attachment mounts to the rear of the lower

receiver with a collapsible stock receiver

extension. The swivel’s rotation is limited by

the buffer tube, preventing tangles.

EZ CARBINE SLING MOUNT

The Daniel Defense EZ Carbine Sling Mount is

the perfect sling mount for law enforcement

agencies and military units that must comply

with restrictions to modifications of issued

weapons. The new one-piece design slides

easily over the buffer tube for attachment to

the receiver extension. The swivel’s rotation is
