O Milagre
The Miracle
Wonderful days when newspapers publish plenty of poetry
and from the lips of a friend, enchanted words raise
Magic days
when rich people admire,
through windows of offices,
the free grace of the clouds!
“Quem não compreende um olhar
tampouco compreenderá uma longa explicação.”
Mário Quintana
“Who cannot understand how you look at him,
barely will understand a long explanation.”

De onde se parte quase sempre às tontas,

E a nossa conta nunca está em dia.”

From where directionless we leave,
Packed never is our luggage,
Paid never bills will be.”

Sentir primeiro, pensar depois
Perdoar primeiro, julgar depois
Amar primeiro, educar depois
Esquecer primeiro, aprender
depois
Libertar primeiro, ensinar depois
Alimentar primeiro, cantar depois
Possuir primeiro, contemplar
depois
Agir primeiro, julgar depois
Navegar primeiro, aportar depois
Viver primeiro, morrer depois
Mário Quintana
First to feel, to think afterwards!
First to forgive, to judge
afterwards!
First to love, to teach afterwards!
First to forget, to learn
afterwards!
First to free, to teach afterwards!
First to feed, to sing afterwards!
First To be owner, to behold
afterwards!
To act first, afterwards to judge!
To sail first, afterwards to beach!
First to live, afterwards to die!
Poeminha do Contra
Todos esses que aí estão
atravancando meu caminho,
eles passarão...
eu passarinho!
Mário Quintana
Little Poem of the Rebel
Those ones
Blocking my pathways,
will pass and will go way...
I will be a bird!

A Arte de Ser Bom
Sê bom. Mas ao coração
Prudência e cautela ajunta.
Quem todo de mel se unta,
Os ursos o lamberão.
The Art of Being Good
Be Good.
Have prudence as trustee.
The one anointed with honey,
By bears licked will be.
