1. Introduction

ln May 2016, the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB)adopted its strategy for youth employment in Africa, which seeks to create 25 millionjobs by 2025" As part of the implementation of this strategy, and in order tosupplement existing initiatives in Cameroon, the AfDB has devised in 2017, aninternship programme for young graduates within its funded projects. Thisprogramme aims at providing young university graduates with an initial professionalexperience while making them useful in the execution of project activities and thuspromoting the integration of these youths in the professional environment. Thisprogramme is now in its second year of implementation.

2. Purpose of the Call for Expressions of lnterest

The purpose of this Call for Expressions of lnterest is to select forty-five (45)interns for a twelve (121months internship in the executing units of projects of theactive portfolio of the AfDB in Cameroon. These include:

o Batshenga-Ntui-Yoko-Lena Road Development Project (PAST 1);. Djoum-Mintom-Congo Border Road Development Project -Phase 2 ;o Yaoundé-Bafoussam Road Rehabilitation and Bogo-Pous and Grand Zambi-

Kribi Road Development Project (PAST 2) ;

. Lom Pangar Hydroelectric Development Project -Construction of the Foot Plant (PAHLP) ;

o Reinforcement and Extension Project of Electric PowerDistribution Systems (PRERETD)

. Support project to the modernisation of surveys and the business climate(PAMOCCA)

. Grassfield Rural lnfrastructure and Participatory Development Support Project,-Phase ll ( GRASSFIELD ll);

o AgriculturalValue Chains Development Project (PD _CVA);o Central African Optical Fibre Backbone Project - Cameroon component (CABPROJECT);

o Limbé Petroleum Yard (YPL).

3. Participation

Participation in this Call for Expressions of lnterest is open to young universitygraduates of all nationalities, aged between 18 and 32 years. They must havea good command of lT tools and be proficient in the two official languages,namely English and French. Female candidates are strongly encouraged toapply.

The internship programme is focused on the following areas:

o Corporate and administrative management;o Agro-industry;o Archiving and documentation;o Audit and management control;o Surveÿ and land tenure;o Accounting and finance;o Electricity;. Environment;o Civil engineering;. Computer sciences;o lnfrastructure;. Engineering;o Mechanics;o Procurement;o Transport planning;o Human Resources;o Monitoring & Evaluation;o Telecommunications.

4. Fundingl

lnterns will be provided with a monthly stipend covered by the resources of theprojects concerned.

5. Qualifications, availability and ability of applicants

lnterested candidates shall meet the following requirements:

o Be university graduates (at least 2nd year in the university level);o Be available throughout the duration of the internship;o Be punctual, assiduous, and have an irreproachable work ethic;. Be able to carry out instructions with humiliÿ, in a learning spirit and ready to

develop professionally;o Strong ability to analyse and summarize, good organisational skills, with a

methodical mind, and able to innovate and create;. Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure;. Good writing and speaking skills;o Be discreet - any information obtained in the course of the internship must be

kept confidential.

6. Applications
