Factores Ambientales y Estres Cronico

Cronico:
Glucocorticoides (Cortisol)
Citokinas Pro-inflamatorias
Hormonas: Insulina, Vasopresina,Tiroxina, Oxitocina,Melatonina,Somatotropina (HC).
![Page 18: Seminario Internacional Càncer Y Estrès](https://reader033.fdocumentos.com/reader033/viewer/2022061202/547be2d1b4af9fca7a8b4669/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Impacto Negativo del Estres Cronico en Pacientes con Cancer
• Alteraciones de la Memoria
• Fatiga Suprarrenal, Fibromialgia
• Depresion, Ansiedad, Insomnia
• Dolor Cronico
Estres Agudo: De naturaleza Protectora y Adaptativa
Estres Cronico: De naturaleza Nociva y Desadaptada
![Page 22: Seminario Internacional Càncer Y Estrès](https://reader033.fdocumentos.com/reader033/viewer/2022061202/547be2d1b4af9fca7a8b4669/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)

• Hostile Marital Interactions, Proinflammatory• Cytokine Production, and Wound Healing• Janice K. Kiecolt-Glaser, PhD; Timothy J. Loving, PhD;
Jeffrey R. Stowell, PhD; William B. Malarkey, MD;• Stanley Lemeshow, PhD; Stephanie L. Dickinson, MAS;
Ronald Glaser, PhD• Conclusions: These data provide further mechanistic
evidence• of the sensitivity of wound healing to everyday• stressors. Moreover, more frequent and amplified
increases• in proinflammatory cytokine levels could accelerate• a range of age-related diseases. Thus, these data also• provide a window on the pathways through which hostile• or abrasive relationships affect physiological functioning• and health.• Arch Gen Psychiatry. 2005;62:1377-1384

Telomere y Telomerase

Pérdida de Telomere• Accelerated telomere shortening in response• to life stress• Elissa S. Epel*, Elizabeth H. Blackburn, Jue Lin,
Firdaus S. Dhabhar, Nancy E. Adler*, Jason D. Morrow.
• *Department of Psychiatry, University of California, 3333 California
• We investigated the hypothesis that stress impacts health by modulating the rate of cellular aging.
• Here we provide evidence that psychological stress—both perceived stress and chronicity of stress—is significantly associated with higher oxidative stress, lower telomerase activity, and shorter telomere length, Women with
• the highest levels of perceived stress have telomeres
• shorter on average by the equivalent of at least one decade of
• additional aging compared to low stress women. These findings
• have implications for understanding how, at the cellular level,
• stress may promote earlier onset of age-related diseases.

• Amanda K. Damjanovic*, Yinhua Yang*, Ronald Glaser, Janice K. Kiecolt-Glaser
• Journal of Immunology, 2008, March 5 Department of Neurology, The Ohio State University,
Columbus, OH 43210• Abstract
• We found depressive symptoms were significantly higher in• caregivers than in controls. • Higher production of immune-regulatory cytokines (TNF-α
and IL-10) than controls• caregivers had significantly shorter telomere lengths than
controls.• These findings demonstrate that• chronic stress is associated with altered T cell function and
accelerated immune cell aging as• suggested by excessive telomere loss• Journal of Immunology, 2008, September 15.

Mindfulness (MBSR) y Cancer• Psycho-Oncology (2009)• Randomized controlled trial of mindfulness-based stress• reduction (MBSR) for survivors of breast cancer• Cecile A. Lengacher, Versie Johnson-Mallard, Janice Post-White,
Manolete S. Moscoso, Paul B. Jacobsen,• University of South Florida,Tampa, FL, USA
• Abstract• Recruited from the USF/Moffitt Cancer and Research Institute. Subjects
were randomly assigned to a 6-week Mindfulness-Based Stress• MBSR program designed to self-regulate arousal to stressful
circumstances or• symptoms or to usual care. Outcome measures compared at 6 weeks
by• random assignment included validated measures of psychological
status (depression, anxiety, perceived stress, fear of recurrence, optimism,
• Results: subjects assigned to MBSR(BC) had significantly lower adjusted mean levels of depression. Anxiety, and fear of recurrence at 6 weeks, along with higher energy , physical functioning. Subjects more compliant with MBSR tended to experience greater improvements in measures of energy and physical functioning.
• Conclusions: Among BC survivors within 18 months of treatment completion, a 6-week
• MBSR(BC) program resulted in significant improvements in psychological status and quality of life compared with usual care.

Mindfulness, Cerebro y Sistema Inmune Alterations in Brain and Immune Function Produced by
Mindfulness• Meditation• RICHARD J. DAVIDSON, PHD, JON KABAT-ZINN, PHD, JESSICA
SCHUMACHER, MS, MELISSA ROSENKRANZ, BA,• DANIEL MULLER, MD, PHD, SAKI F. SANTORELLI, EDD, FERRIS
URBANOWSKI, MA, ANNE HARRINGTON, PHD,• Methods: We measured brain electrical activity before and
immediately after, and then 4 months after an 8-week training program in mindfulness meditation. Twenty-five subjects were tested in the meditation
• group. A wait-list control group (N 16) was tested at the same points in time as the meditators. At the end of the 8-week period,
• Results: We report for the first time significant increases in left-sided anterior activation, a pattern previously associated with positive affect, in the meditators compared with the nonmeditators.
• Conclusions: These findings demonstrate that a short program in mindfulness meditation produces demonstrable effects on brain and immune function. These findings suggest that meditation may change brain and immune function in positive ways.

Mindfulness y Neuroplasticidad
• Long-term meditators self-induce high-amplitude• gamma synchrony during mental practice• Antoine Lutz*, Lawrence L. Greischar*, Nancy B.
Rawlings*, Matthieu Ricard and Richard J. Davidson
• *W. M. Keck Laboratory for Functional Brain Imaging and Behavior, Waisman Center, and Laboratory for Affective Neuroscience.
• Here we find that long-term practitioners self-induce sustained electroencephalographic high-amplitude gamma-band oscillations during meditation.
• These electroencephalogram patterns differ from those of controls, in particular over lateral frontoparietal electrodes.
• These data suggest that mental training involves temporal integrative mechanisms and may induce short term and long-term neural changes.

Mecanismos Psicofisiologicos que Sustentan la Practica de Mindfulness
• Foco Atencional• Respuesta de
Relajacion• Auto-regulacion de la
emocion• Percepcion de si-
mismo• Expansion de la
conciencia• Rumia mental
negativa auto-enfocada.
• Postulado MBSR:• Prestar atencion y
