A reconstrução mandibular representa um estágio importante na reabilitação de pacientes submetidos à exérese de tumores dos maxilares.

A reconstrução deve ter como objetivo principal a reabilitação funcional e estética do paciente.

Dentre os diversos métodos descritos, a substituição articular sintética torna-se uma opção viável para reconstrução mandibular.
