Abstract:Therehavebeenmanystudiesonmicrobialcementedsand;however,themesodeformationcharacteristicsandthefractureprocessofthematerialsarenotclear.Usingthediscreteelementmethodandintroducingthetheoryofmomenttensor,themesoscopicmodelwasconstructedformicrobialcementedsandduringBraziliantest,anditsacousticemissioncharacteristicswerestudied.Itisfoundthatwiththegradualincreaseofstrain,thefracturestrengthexpandsfromthetopandbottomofthesamplealongthecentralaxis,thevalueofthefracturestrengthincreasescontinuouslyandeventuallyformingthemainaxisalongthesampleaxis.Theacousticemission(AE)frequencyandburststrengtharenormallydistributed,andtheburststrengthrangesfrom -7.52to-5.79.TheexponentialcorrelationbetweenthenumbersofAEandthemicrorupturesisnegative.Thisstudyprovidesanewwaytofindouttheruptureprocessofmicrobialcementedsand.Keywords:microbialcementedsand(MCS);Braziliantest;acousticemission;mesoscopicsimulation;discreteelementmethod(DEM)
