COMPUTERS HISTORY

FIRST SLIDE

Comventionally a computer consist of some form of memory for data storage, at least one element that carries out arithmetic and logic operations, and sequencing and control element thar can change the order oof operations based on the information that is stored.

SECOND SLIDE:

ENIAC was the first general-purpose computer.ENIAC was designed to calculate artillery firing tables for the United States Armys Ballistic Research Laboratory. When ENIAC was announced in 1946 it was heralded in the press as a Giant Brain. This mathematical power, coupled with genetal-porpuse programmability, excited scientists and industrial. The inventors promoted the spread of these new ideas by teaching a series of lectures on computer architecture. The ENIACs desing and construction was financed by the United States Army during World Wasr II.

THIRD SLIDE

A transistor (1948) is a semeconductor device used to amplify electronic signals and power. It is composed of a semiconductor material with at least three terminals for connnection to an external circuit. A voltage or current applied to one pair of the transistors terminal changes the current flowing through another pair of terminals. The transistors is the fundamental building block of modern electronic devices, and is ubiquitous in modern electronic systems. Following its relase in the early 1950s the transistor revolutionized the field of electronic, and paved the way for smaller and cheaper radios, calculators, and computers, among other things.

FOUR SLIDE

The Altair 8800 was a microcomputer desing from 1975 based on the Intel 8080 CPU and sold by mail order through advertisements in Popular Electronic, Radio Electronics and other hobbyist magazines. The desingners hoped to sell only a few hundred build-it-yourself kits to hobbyusts, were surprised when they sold thousands in the first month.
