The new and functional cab

SISU Timber has a new, ergonomic and an elegant sleeper cabor spacious cab. The driver's visibility around the vehicle is betterand driver comfort and security have been increased thanks tothe driver seat with various adjustments. The elegant dashboardis uniformly arched. In addition, the cab contains versatilestorage compartments. Various accessories that add to drivercomfort and ease of use are available for the cab. For example,large-size windows increase visibility both in the rear wall aswell as the right side of the cabin. The Bi-Xenon head lightsincrease luminous efficiency.

SISU'sstrategy can be crystallised in factory-ready, multi-axle,high-power trucks and special vehicles with a large loadcarrying capacity. As an independent manufacturer, SisuAuto is capable of utilising the products of the world'sleading component manufacturers.

SISU Timber combines the decades-long experience of SisuAuto as a manufacturer of timber trucks. SISU Timber is theonly factory-ready timber truck on the market. It featuresmuch more than a chassis on which timber truck functionshave been added afterwards. Our SISU Timber customers willappreciate the latest Caterpillar C15 which provides robustengine power for extreme terrain conditions. Caterpillar hassufficient torque even on low revolutions, and the driver willenjoy its solid operation during road transports. For timbertrucks, the most popular drive axle configurations are 6x4 or6x2. However, the four-axle drive configurations, which arenot so frequent for this type of vehicle, are also advisablealternatives.

The 460 mm high frame

The basis of all SISU trucks is the robust frame with excellenttorsional and flexural rigidity qualities. SISU Timber has a 460mm high C-profile frame which does not require any separatesubframe. Thus, it weighs less as compared with thetraditional subframe structure. The Y frame, equipped byround intermediate beams provides better driver comfort andreduces the strain on the bodywork. With full timber load,starting the truck will cause no problems even in difficultcircumstances, since the sturdy frame will distribute enginepower effectively via the drive axles on the ground.

SISU Timber is the only timber truck on the market which is available entirelyfactory-ready. After delivery, there is no need to disassemble, drill or welda SISU for installing optional accessories. In a SISU Timber truck, each detailhas been designed and constructed individually for each customer: Thetruck is an entirety. SISU provides full factory warranty for the entire vehicle.As our customer, you can start utilising your factory-made truck immediately.

SISU Timber has a unique bogie axle with drive axle disconnectand lifting mechanism. The liftable rearmost axle of the bogiedrive combined with the short turning radius make the truck agileeven on a difficult terrain and in tight bends. The bogie lift systemcan also be utilised with full load, in which case weight and tractionare shifted to the first bogie axle. Without load, starting the truckwill cause no problems even in difficult circumstances by liftingthe support axles and shifting thus the weight to the drive axles.During road transports, the bogie lift and support axle lift systemswill reduce both tire wear and fuel consumption.

The new Caterpillar C-15 engine

Caterpillar has reduced the engineemissions to the level set by the newEuro 4 requirements by developingthe Acert system that will reduce theemissions without any additives. TheAcert technology is based on anadvanced combustion processwhere the most completecombustion can be achieved evenin low combustion temperatures. Asa consequence, there will also beless harmful combustion products.The Acert system contains several

advanced solutions such as variable valve timing and connectingtwo turbos in a series. The system will not compromise theengine performance, efficiency, or service life. There are threedifferent Caterpillar C-15 engine versions available: 520, 550,and 630.
