Finally, the panel will search out a profound reflection on current politics andaffirmative action that favor a recognition of cultural diversity in its multiple

The Round Table will present and discuss the problems that worry researchers andcommunication professionals from the African continent. The presenters will be offering theirreflections and experiences, looking at the relation between society, media and ethnicity in thecontruction of democracy on the African continent. Historical aspects will be presented such as
the difficulties and successes in the fight for a more just society. Finally, the Brazilianresearcher, Andréia Couto, will be sowing together a series of observations based on her own
experiences in analyzing the role of the media in recent conflicts in African countries.

Office of multimedia journalist coverageby adolescents of educommunication projects

Permanent journalist coverage will be set up at the event, comprised in part by a group of“young educommunicators” who are capacitated and coordinated by NCE – the Nucleus ofCommunication and Education of ECA/USP and by the Nucleus of Education of the Afro-Brasil Museum.
The participating children are students in the public school system of São Paulo who havetaken part in the project Educom.rádio. Among these children are EMEFs Abrahão deMoraes and Carlos Pasquale; students of São Luis High School; participants in the projectEducomrádio.centro-oeste, providers from the state of Mato Grosso; young participants inmultimedia programs of FUNDHAS, of São José dos Campos, as well as students of theeducommunication program of Prefeitura de Francisco Morato, SP.
The young people involved will be producing materials for a range of media, especiallyradio language and digital text, divulging their news through the sites of SESC, NCE andSão Luís High School. In fact, they will be creating a dialogue with adolescents and otheryoung people from other places in Brazil and around the world through web-radio.
