Objectives: This study aims to present the training process adopted at NORTH REGION HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING CENTER (CTAR/RN) for the Judo team and the results obtained during 2006. Material and methods: For the first time in Amazonas State history judocas were evaluated adequated to Judo needs, a season planing with 3 cicles was developed to direct the training acording to the competition calendar, and also the judo specific needs and the personal athletes' goals for reaching the peaks at the right moment. General and Judo specifc methods of training were adopted according to the training phase. The training periodization was based on the classic model by Matveev due to the high number of juvenile and junior athletes there, who need an extended basic phase of training for developing their athletic skills and give them physiological capacities to support proper training later during the senior ages. Results and Discussion The training was controlled by periodical evaluations and tournaments results, so it may be said that: a)the applied anthropometric parameters and the motor tests showed that the judokas were fit to their weigth classes; b) since the CTAR/RN was developed and this coach commission was hired, never, in the Amazonas State, Judo has achieved such expressive victories in the main regional, national and international level tournaments with juvenile, junior and senior athletes. Conclusions It may be concluded that the good performance results are directly linked to adequated season planning and its exectution, but also with the creation of an adequated training center, proper investment in Judo, good administration, criterious professional and athletes selection. IntroductionAs time goes by Judo has reached many different countries, regions, societies and cultures. Since political translation has begun at the Judo Federation directory board in the Amazonas State, in Brazil, a new wind of Judo development has been achieved and expressive results has been shown both at national and international levels.Good results relates to good talent promotion and training, coaching skills and competence, management work, goal setting, sports facilities, tournament organization and participation, financial and parents support besides many other items.

Objectives:This study aims to present the training process adopted at NORTH REGION HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING CENTER (CTAR/RN) for the Judo team and the results obtained during 2006.

Material and methods:For the first time in Amazonas State history judocas were evaluated adequated to Judo needs, a season planing with 3 cicles was developed to direct the training acording to the competition calendar, and also the judo specific needs and the personal athletes' goals for reaching the peaks at the right moment.

Results and DiscussionThe training was controlled by periodical evaluations and tournaments results, so it may be said that:

a)the applied anthropometric parameters and the motor tests showed that the judokas were fit to their weigth classes;

b) since the CTAR/RN was developed and this coach commission was hired, never, in the Amazonas State, Judo has achieved such expressive victories in the main regional, national and international level tournaments with juvenile, junior and senior athletes.

ConclusionsIt may be concluded that the good performance results are directly linked to adequated season planning and its exectution, but also with the creation of an adequated training center, proper investment in Judo, good administration, criterious professional and athletes selection.
