Vivemos em um mundo caótico, plural, em constante movimento. A velocidade com que somos expostos aos estímulos do dia-a-dia acaba por moldar nossa vida por inteiro, regendo a maneira com que nos relacionando com o exterior. O fotógrafo, dessa maneira, arma-se de aparatos que decifram as imagens, tornando-as estáticas, roubadas de contexto e expostas em forma de luz gravada em pixels ou prata.

Intrigados com a maneira de se movimentar o mundo e com o mistério envolto na forma de pausar a vida da fotografia, buscamos como inspiração fotógrafos que conseguiram, em suas obras, registrar a mágica dos movimentos, eternizando cada ação em belas imagens, como é o caso da obra de Phillip Hallsman e suas fotografias certeiras de gatos, objetos e pessoas voando pelos ares em eternas levitações; no uso do movimento e da arte futurista inspiradores de Harold Edgerton, com seus strobos criadores de humanos de ínumeros braços, pernas; Nos delicados movimentos subaquáticos de Zena Holloway, criadora de uma estética sublime e nova àqueles que se atém apenas à superfície; Nos momentos únicos de Cartier-Bresson, traduzindo a agitação de uma emergente sociedade urbana e na inquietação dos homens; Nos nuances de Richard Avedon e seu apuro para o olhar pouco usual do movimento.

Apresento-os, assim, nossa FCMAG Motion Issue, onde a visão borrada e em constante movimento de nossos fotógrafos mostram pedaços eternos de um mundo passado que não voltará a ser o que era, mas que continuará eternamente presente enquando moverem as páginas virtuais de nossa revista.

We live in a diverse, chaotic, constantly changing world. The rapidness with which we are exposed to the daily stymulum lead to shaping our lives entirely, dictating the way we relate ourselves to the outside world. Thus, the photographer equips him or herself with gear to decipher images, turning them into motionless pictures, robbed from their context and exposed in the form of light and pixels or silver.

Intrigued by the way the world is always in motion and the mystery of photography - that of pausing life -, we seek as inspiration the photographers who managed to, with their work, capture the magic of motion in their pictures, so as to eternalize every action into beautiful images, as the work of Phillip Hallsman and his photographs of cats, objects and people flying through the air in eternal levitation, captured right in time; as the usage of movements and the futurist art which inspired Harold Edgerton with his strobes which create humans of countless arms and legs; as in the delicate underwater movements of Zena Holloway, creator of sublime aesthetics, which is new to those who limit themselves to the surface; as in the unique moments of Cartier-Bresson, who translates the upsetting of an uprising urban society and the restlessness of men; as in the nuances of Richard Avedon and his keen, unusual sight for movements.

Thus, I present to you our FCMAG Motion Issue, in which the blurred, constantly moving sight of our photographers show eternal pieces of a world which belongs to the past and will never come to be what it once was, but will be everlastingly present as long as the virtual pages of our magazine are turned.
