A Black Drop was founded in 2006 by Guilherme Maia. Acting in the interactivedesign market since 2001, before founding A Black Drop, has worked at Click

Agency from São Paulo and Brasilia the latter as senior designer responsible for strategic projects of the company. Still at Click, was responsible for the visual

guidelines of the actual Caixa Econômica Federal website. Acted abroad at IdSocietyAgency in New York, developing projects to AMC Networks and Baileys.

In 2008 has added Lester Izaac in a partnership. He has dual undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Marketing, and is actually enrolled in an

MSc in Competitive Intelligence. He´s responsible for the company´s and client´s marketing and relationship strategies (multi-channel CRM)

and management web systems. Has worked with small to mid companies, but has also a background with fidelization projects to international

companies like Michelin Tires in Brazil.

Discovery and contract signment

First contact with the client, when the work strategy is defined, the technology to be used is choosen and the final product, specified.

Product presented to the client: MATRIZ DE ESCOPO and CONTRACT (PDF doc)

The scope matrix is a spreasheet in which all the site´s pages are described. Each

Obs.: If the adopted strategy defines that the site must be done using flash tools or any particular tool based on flash, it´s presented a mockup specifying all the funcionalities. There´s a 30% sign over the whole project value to be paid on the contractsignature.

Wireframe

Presentation with wireframe (visual model in wired monochrome) of all screens that are part of the site/system.In this stage we illustrate the browsing structure, position and importance level of the elements that compose the page.

Specification of the screens to be drawn on 3rs Stage (Visual Guidelines). Screens that follow a pre-defined visual model are only executed at the 5th stage (Implementation).

The screens presented on the WIREFRAME are drawn, with finishing and visual refinement.

For the flash and video animations will be presented a stop motion exemplifying important animation stages.

Modeling and animation of 3D objects (lightwave software), with postproduction with video edition tools.

Animation, effects addings and video sequences optimization using a video editor software (After Effects) to apply FLASH through FLV or another output that offers quality and band weight reduction.

Animations in timelines or coded (class McTweener) in FLASH

6 / Payment Method

By the time of the contract signature, there will be a 30% sign over the projects entire value. Is the rest of the project´s value is divided, these residual parts should be paid with no more than 30 days between each payment, after the contract signature.

HSBC is our correspondent bank abroad. Easiness on the transactions by it´s presence in many countries and integrated with online transfer systems of many other banks.

Our invoice is generatec after the project´s begining and conclusion, and every data needed for an international wire transfer are included in this invoice.

During the payment, the client is free from filling documents or signatures to release the payments on the destination. The whole validation process is done by our local HSBC managers, withour bureaucratic or cost charges to our clients.

Virgin Atlantic's in-flight displays were to promote fares to London and Hongkong. ABlackDrop's ingenious style, using iconic imagery of the two destinations and transforming them into (non existing) film posters proved to be quite a hit with our client. Estrela Architecture´s website is a modern one, with a clear and creative language. The conception was to create a tool with strong visual appeal and easy navigation. The project´s vitrine developed makes the navigation easy and motivating, sharpening one´s curiosity to explore each projects´content. The menus are discrete and easy to visualize. The harmony between gray tones passes contemporaneity and earnest, to be focused on an architecture company that attend the civil construction sector.
