    Smith & Wesson

    The Smith & Wesson is an amped up version of the classic

    highball,Smith & Kearns. The difference between the two is

    that this one includes vodka. Both are great, refreshing highballs

    and ones that you can get in almost any bar.

    Prep Time: 3 minutes

    Total Time: 3 minutes

    Yield: 1 Cocktail

    Glass type: highball glass

    Garnish: soda

    Ingredients:

    1 ozvodka 1 ozcoffee liqueur

    2 ozhalf and half Club soda to fill

    Preparation:1. Pour the coffee liqueur, vodka and half and half into

    ahighball glass filled with ice.

    2. Fill with club soda.Vesper martini

    EveryJames Bond fan will recognize the lines in the recipebelow as the first martini James Bond ordered in Casino

    Royale. The Kina Lillet Bond speaks can be found today labeled

    as White or Blanc Lillet. It's a brand of dry vermouth made in

    France since the late 1800's that is often referred to as "the

    apritif of Bordeaux". Bond's glassware of choice for the

    Vesper is a deep Champagne goblet.

    Vodca Redbull

    Love it or hate it, the Vodka Red Bull is one of the

    mostpopular drinks of the 21st Century so far. It owes its fame

    to the energy drink craze and the popularity of Red Bull. I'm not

    fond of it myself simply because I don't like to mix alcohol and

    overly caffeinated drinks - a theory that has spurred quite a

    debate lately about thehealth effects of such a mix. If you do

    like Vodka Red Bulls or any similar drinks, take it easy because

    the caffeine can mask how drunk you may be in reality and lead

    to some larger issues than ahangover.

    Glass type: highball glass

    Ingredients:

    2 oz vodka Red Bull energy drinkPreparation:

    1. Pour thevodka into ahighball

    glass filled with ice.

    2. Fill with Red Bull.Vodca Tonic

    With the splash of lime, the Vodka Tonic is an easy-to-make,

    refreshing sipper for really hot days. Where theGin &Tonic relies on the flavor of gin to make the drink, this vodka

    version is very clean and almost flavorless except for the lime.

    This is where a good vodka comes into play: a value vodka will

    add nothing to the drink and it's impurities will shine through.

    2 ozvodka 2 oztonic water Lime wedge for garnish

    Preparation:

    1. Build ingredients in an ice-filledhighball glass.

    2. Add the lime garnish.Accomplice

    Combine a fineChampagne and a greatvodka (likeStoli) with

    strawberries and you have a fantastic drink called the

    Accomplice. This is a great cocktail for elite celebrations and,

    especially, New Year's Eve parties. I like that it's served in a

    cocktail glass as opposed to a Champagne flute because it

    allows the bubbly to swell in the wider glass. Not to mention it's

    much easier to rim a cocktail glass with sugar, which is a

    necessary finishing touch for this and works best with abrut orextra brut for that sweet-dry combination that is stunning.

    Ingredients:

    1 oz simple syrup 2 oz Stolichnaya vodka 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice Champagne 3 strawberries superfine sugar for rimmingPreparation:

    5. Top with Champagne.Alibi

    The Alibi is a simpleginger-flavored drink that features a

    fantastic vodka, Stolichnaya. Personally I prefer to use theStoli

    Elitbecause it's even smoother than the other, but

    anyvodka should do as long as it's a nice, clean one - those

    work best with the pure ginger, lime and soda of the drink. The

    ginger syrup is easy to make and great for keeping in the fridge

    on a regular basis. Another option is to get a little "wild" and

    use avanilla-ginger simple syrup.Both are great

    Garnish: club soda

    Ingredients:

    1 oz ginger simple syrup (recipe below) 2 oz Stolichnaya vodka squeeze of a fresh lime club sodaPreparation:

    1. Pour the ingredients into acocktail shaker filled with ice.2. Shake well.3. Strain into anold-fashioned glass filled with ice.

    4. Top with a splash ofclub soda.GingerSimple Syrup:

    1. Peel 2 inches of freshginger.

    2. Simmer with 3/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water for 5minutes to infuse flavor.

    3. Remove ginger.4. Bottle and chill.

    The Amore Frizzante is a spectacularsparkling wine

    cocktail with a rich array of fruity flavors. The star of the show

    is the brandy-basedGranGala orange liqueur and when that is

    paired with a bit of peach nectar andProsecco the result is

    stunning and a great option for any celebration likeNew Year's

    Eve.The recipe calls for clear vodka, but I've found that Van

    Gogh's mango vodka is a nice touch here, as would most

    anyfruit-infused vodka.

    Glass type: champagne flute

    Garnish: peach/raspberry

    Ingredients:

    1 oz Van Gogh Vodka 1/2 oz GranGala Triple Orange

    Liqueur

    1/2 ozpeach nectar

    Prosecco, such as Brunetto sliced peaches and raspberries for

    garnish

    Preparation:

    1. Pour thevodka,GranGala and peach nectar into acocktailshaker filled with ice.

    2. Shake well.3. Strain into aChampagne flute.

    4. Top with Prosecco.5. Garnish with a slice of peach and two raspberries.

    Apple Cider Martini

    Here is another apple-flavored 'martini' and it's an interesting

    one. This Apple Cider Martini is designed more for those with

    drier tastes than many of the other options.

    The drink uses Ultimat Vodka, which is ultra smooth and clean,

    and makes a nice base for the apple and ginger combination.

    For the cider, I recommend using the freshest cider available

    rich apple that is offset by fresh pomegranate. The result is onespectacularMartini.

    have the same kick as the drink.

    At some point in its early history this drink was made with

    Cognac in place of the gin and there is some question as to

    which version is the realFrench 75, but

    gin is the more common now. To add

    another twist, if the same drink is made

    withvodka for the base spirit, it is a

    French 76.
