IDP figures constantly fluctuate, more so during theonset of a new crisis. OCHA receives figures from different sources and humanitarian partners and triangulates them. The number of verified IDPs OCHA reports on has been either registered / verified by IOM or confirmed through inter-agency assessments / missions and / or during theprovision of assistance by IASC humanitarian partners. This, in turn, implies that the level of verification and accuracy varies greatly.

.

Notes:# The IOM figure for Sortony is currently under revision dueto IOM’s halt of registration and verification processes sincemid-February. WFP is currently cross-checking its distributionfigures against its earlier headcount and, as such, a final, revised, figure is not yet available.
